Freezing chest air oh so cold

I bought a Dhb Vaeon Roubaix Long Sleeve Jersey and wore it over a thermal base layer but the wind went straight through onto my chest and it was cold when breathing. Not impressed. I sucked it in for the ride the jersey made me a sweat but the cold on the chest must be partly avoidable..
Any advice please?

    Windproof gilet as a lower cost option. Full on softshell if you're feeling flush.

    Gilet would be best for the next couple of weeks as we're still in a 'transition' between seasons. A softshell will be a boon once Winter hits proper.

    DHb windslam jersey for me over a baselayer the last two days has kept me pleanty warm enough.

    Can also get windproof base layers (Specialized and Craft do them) but a gilet is probably cheaper and offers more versatility...

    Last night was the first time in ages I've really needed my Gore Phantom (Windstopper). Worn over a LS baselayer it was perfect. First time out for full-finger gloves too. Found a little pocket of frosted grass / leaves out on the dog walk this morning, so temps are definitely dropping.

    Had a full sleeve roll neck baselayer with my rapha softshell gilet. Perfect.

    Gilet - I'm going to put one on my christmas list, as I have a waterproof one but it's getting trashed (velcro closure is killing the fabric)

    I had mine on this morning, just a summer ss jersey and merino baselayer was loads warm enough, wouldn't want to be wearing the winter jacket yet

    I've tried the newspaper but it doesn't work as well as you'd think :)

    Something as simple as a Sportful hotpack gilet will work, they're light, waterproof.. Ish and wind proof.
    If you want something Roubaix warm try the Endura windchill gilet.
