I managed to crack my old Kula, so after checking what to replace it with I settled on a Unit.

I wanted a SS frame, didn't fancy anything with a EBB and wanted to avoid slotted dropouts. So the Kona's sliding dropouts fit the bill, and the geo looked good so I took the gamble.
I think it's raw finish with a cyan lacquer looks great, the braze ons showing though the finish.

How it stood when I collected it-

So far I've swapped the cranks to my old SLX, changed the brakes to some Elixir 5s and put my eXoctic pedals on.

It rides superbly, I expected it to be quite harsh but it does flatten out quite a lot of the rough stuff if you choose your line well. If you don't you know about it though!

I might get a fork for it at some point but I think I'd swap between rigid and HT quite often.

Very nice, loving the colour can see coloured clear coat over raw finish taking off big style.
how are you finding the Ardents?

Think we need to see more pics please.
  • @lex, Ive got a pair of the Ardents on my Voodoo, and i absolutely love them, they are very fast on the road and dry stuff, but when it does get a bit wetter they come into their own, they really are grippy. They do have a bit of a tendency to clog up quickly though.

  • Hello, my first post on here ;)
Can I ask you if the seat post can be lowered all the way down in the seat tube?
From the pics it looks like seat tube water bottle screws are missing.. ( nice thing to me)
    2013 model had them..
I like frames) that occasionally can have their seat post slammed all way down for those slow tech downhills..
    Thanks!
