I'm looking to get some waterproof tights as i'm having to work 32 miles from home for a month or so and don't really want to stop cycling if I can avoid it!

I have seen these:

but they are pretty damn expensive!

anything similar out there or some very close fitting trousers would be ok, just don't like them flapping in the wind!

They actually look like a pretty good option for commuting.

The problem is that everything that I've found that's genuinely waterproof is also boil in the bag so after an hour on the bike you'll be soaked anyway and there's a good chance that you'll also be roasting hot. I'm with you though, I have one problem with commutingn in winter, putting wet kit on in the evening, shoes is bad enough but bibtights is another level of unpleasant.

Tried a pair on - complete boil in the bag and too restrictive to want me to cycle with any degree of effort, might be OK for a short commute but not a serious ride
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Castelli nanoflex tights are very good but have roubaix fleecy goodness to so can be warm on a warm wet day. I wore mine for a 100km audax along with a gabba and came out fairly dry. Would have been even dryer if I had had mudguards fitted!
    RIP commute...
Sometimes seen bimbling around on a purple Fratello Disc or black and red Aprire Vincenza.

Gore Power 2.0 SO for when its really cold (stops wind chill) which not totally waterproof but near as .
Or Gore Oxygens SO thinner material and better for when its milder . Your still going to get pretty hot though .
Could try normal shorts with windstopper leg warmers and swap for normal ones when it warms up ?

I've got a set of Gore Contest tights and they are good for when its raining in my experience. They aren't fleece lined so don't get heavy when wet and don't take forever to dry either.
  • How about these? Not fully waterproof so won't save you from a proper downfall but it says they have a waterproof arse panel :D

ah, was kind of hoping that tights would be a bit less boil in the bag style! not too sure why!

I bought these for commuting in Winter:

    http://www.ridebosh.com/mens_clothing/l ... nsert.html

On the strength of a review I read here:

Unfortunately, I didn't get to try them out as the cut just wasn't right for me. Too long in the body/braces and not long enough in the leg. Quality seemed good though, much better than the DHB stuff Wiggle are knocking out for a similar price.
