Is it me or is some of the riding in this video really bad?

It does seem very aggressive but from the looks of the pace and the jersey's those guys are out their riding to make a living.

As a side note. at what level of competition do people finally stop wearing go-pro's?

On a side note, in this vid from the same bloke, two out of four riders from the same team appear unable to ride a bike in a bunch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxuUwgbkJwg

Might be reckless but I found it pretty exciting viewing :P

Some dodgy riding (nudges and leaning) from some of the others but nothing that really stands out. Pretty good collection of crashes and exciting stuff. Makes the crits I do look proper boring.

    I thought that too

I think I prefer boredom over skin loss any day though

Some dickish riding (but also some pretty good riding too) but makes for good viewing.

The editing probably makes it look a bit more exciting too with the mix of slow motion and slightly speeded up footage.
  • They must enjoy crashing.

    this
  • I believe it's Cory Williams and his brothers, all US crit racers who mostly race Pro/Cat 1 events.

I have never raced a crit in the US, but in terms of aggressiveness, it looks similar to the crit racing I've done in the Netherlands. Crit racing in the UK tends to be more tame (more polite!) in comparison, though this could be different in the Tour Series ofcourse.

Yes but the first part of that clip is just a compilation of crashes - it isn't typical of racing in the US, Belgium, Holland or anywhere else unless there is a crash every 10 seconds.

Speaking as a commissaire, they're banned in BC races as they're classed as additional equipment as one could fall off in the bunch and create a hazard for other riders

There was a 'House-cam' (i.e. a GoPro mounted to Kristian House's bars) on the Tour Series this year... I thought it made the coverage a lot better to watch.
