Shimano Claris and Sora

what is the better group set?
both very similarly priced... Claris released a lot later

ergonomically?
visually?
reliability?
comfort?

    Sora = 9 speed
    Not much else different between the two.
    If you are buying a complete groupset I would suggest you upgrade the brake calipers and/or pads.
  • I prefer the look of claris. Claris is designed solely with use of 32T cassette sprockets in mind. The new HG50 8 speed cassettes will be 12-32T or 13-32T I forget which it will be. The short cage claris mech is more like medium cage length with the ability to large cassettes.

    Sora is more of a traditional road groupset and has a proper short cage mech and longer cages for triples and wider ratio cassettes.
