    But to be pedantic a quadrivium is geometry, arithmetic, astronomy, and music.

    Maybe the UK curriculum should adopt sets of quadriviums. Maybe 4 quadriviums, then it would be the Curriculum Quad quadrivium:

    Basic survival level:
    Running, breaking and entering, sales, filling out DWP forms

    Technical level:
    How to spot wood, how to spot plaster, how to spot piping, how to hold the roof on whilst you drive.

    Middle acheivers:
    How to sound posh, how to act posh, how to decorate your house and read the Dailly Mail

    Higher Achieivers:
    Build your own Hedron Colider/Rocket Ship/Road going car with F1 performance, tax evasion.
