Very quick one, looking at some X9 shifters, Is it safe to assume they will be ok with current set up? I have X7 rear derailleur and X5 front derailleur and shifters. All 2x10

Yup they will be fine.
Would add that coming from X5s I was slightly disappointed with my X9 shifters they feel almost identical. The metal levers and absence of gear indicators are a bonus but functionally the difference is not as noticeable as say Deore to XT.
