Ironically, one of the people who was mocking me on one of my early post about cars was filling out online payday loan applications at the same time as having a pop at me. Another who was arguing about what I thought was indecent pictures of a young movie star was on the website adultwork.com so to me its horses for courses.

I got the idea of going back to see who was arguing with VTech. I thought it may have been the thread about Emma Watson. Well would you know it, the thread looks like it has been deleted. :(
    So much for playing detective.
I corrected VTech on that thread.... does that count as arguing?

But I hadn't bookmarked adultwork till yesterday

The issue is that others could feel differently when they are attacked, not everyone has the ability to shrug it off.
I would guess that maybe 95% of adult members here can but its the 5% that are the concern.

I think this is a fair comment. It's down to balance - this place at one extreme can be a case of everyone for themselves and if you get burned, you die alone. Or it can be all a bit mumsy and fluffy wuffy with cute cuddles and hearts all over the place.

Of course, it is actually somewhere in between and there is a balance between sanitising it or letting things get out of hand enough that potentially good new members get put off before they get a chance to settle in. Despite the poor moderating here, I think it's not too bad as it is.

Maybe there should be a bullying thread. Posters expect to get flamed, told to kill themselves, receive offensive insults etc. Completely un-moderated and anything goes. Or comments could be moderated and posters warned if posts aren't offensive enough?

Just make sure it's labelled as such.

I, personally, would have no problem with that at all, but that is not what has been the root of the recent debates. We are all adults on here and as such, should be able to distinguish banter from malice, argument from abuse etc.
I have never seen anything on here that made me stop and think, 'Hang on! You can't say that to someone!'. Anyone who posted such stuff would, I hope, quickly become isolated, because it appears that is not what this forum is about. Someone would point out how stupid they were making themselves look. If they didn't moderate themselves, that is when the mods should step in and issue their equivalent of a yellow card, or if need be, a straight red.
I have no problem with boundaries being set and fully understand why the likes of the Thundercats parody were removed.
What I do find bizarre is the needless intervention to stop bullying that doesn't exist or to stifle debate that is offending no-one, save the mods sensibilities.

You'd have though, wouldn't you ? But the warning on Bottom Bracket doesn't seem to stop people from reading stuff, getting offended and having a p!ss and whine about it.

    Bullying does have it's advantages...

I've been bullying a member constantly for the past few months and my hard work has finally paid off. Bullied into submission, he now views me as the dominant/superior male :D

    Yes, Pinarello001 is my B!tch :D

There really is no point, your quite clearly a clever man so can work it out for yourself.
One thing I've found odd is that the person looking for hookers whilst biatchin at me has been viewing the thread consistently yet failed to respond which is very uncharacteristic like.

    Any sign of Yossie?
  • whilst vtech keeps us all on tenterhooks, and the mystery person remains a mystery, perhaps we should not be judging them so negatively.

maybe they were looking for a hooker for a semi-legitimate reason, for example (and i cant think of any others)to take part in a 3some with their OH, in which case i would be saying how the fo ok did you manage to wangle the OH into that!
