My daughters 'womens specialized mtb' has got a broken coiled type spring inside the brake lever .So when the brake has been pulled the lever springs back slowly instead of snapping back straight away. You can the see the spring just sitting loose on the edge of the lever housing.Theres still the correct tension on the cable.I cant seem to find these springs online anywhere.Does this mean i need to replace the whole lever ?

Just found this which is the kind of spring i mean although this is from the U.S:

  • With the right shimano part number any decent local bike shop would get that for you .

Yep, and if you can't find the right part number, pop it down to a good bike shop, and they should be able to find it in Madison's Shimano catalogue for you.
