Two slow punctures on two bikes on two consecutive days

Of course this could just be bad luck, but a friend who commutes the same cycle path has been puncture free for almost a year like me and then we've had 4 in 3 weeks between us (although my first was a glass slice through tyre and tube)

I'm sure it's just the cycling gods but has anyone else found anything odd this past weeks - neither of us have been able to find anything in the tube or tyre yet so I'm a little puzzled. This hot weather making elderly tubes give way?

Take the inner tube out and pump it good. You can pump it until the air is gushing out. Note where the air is gushing out and deflate the tyre. Have a good examination of the hole and surrounding area - this should give you a clue as to what happened. Probably got pricked by a prickle.
