Bottom bracket query

I've got a 2012 Giant TCR composite 2 with a basic shimano crankset and a shimano integrated bottom bracket. I want to change from a compact std shimano crankset to a Sram Red 53/39 but I'm a little confused due to BB options.

Can I swap out the integrated bb for Gxp or BB30? What's the difference between the Italian and English thread?

Please help.

    You mean its got a pressfit shimano bottom bracket? You should be able to get it removed and fit a sram gxp bb

    BTW you can't fit BB30/PF30 as you frame isn't compatible. Hope make a GXP adaptor bush that fits into the non-drive side of your existing BB to allow you to use a GXP crank - can't guarantee it will work as a number of factors come into play. Alternatively, get a SRAM GXP BB86 press-fit bottom bracket.
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
