Fitting a 1.5 stem to 1.1/8 steerer?

Is there any bracket or convertor I can get to fit a 1.5 stem onto a 1.1/8 steerer? Or is it just a case of it won't fit so don't even try...?

  Not seen them in this size. As stems are fairly cheap, I'd just get a 1 1/8th to be honest!

  Yeah I probably will do. I bought a stem to compliment my new bars without first checking the steerer size. Doh! :oops:

  If it's unused, surely the store will swap it.
