Large Chainring Removal

I am in the process of swapping most of the componentry from my Cube bike to a Dialled Alpinea and was wondering if I could get away without putting the largest crank ring as it never gets used. Are there any guidelines for this removal? I'm sure I have found this topic somewhere on this forum whilst searching for something unrelated.
Cheers

undo the bolts remove ring fit a replacement guide/bash ring or spacers or buy and fit shorter chainring bolts.

  • Set limits on front mech in case you forget you only have two chainrings left.
