can anyone help with servicing of this hub. Instructions would be useful. removed the two 5mm ends no problem, and the freewheel not sure how to remove the bearings from the body and the freewheel itself (or do you just buy a new freehub). do I need special tools? Thanks

    It is not easy as the spacer doesn't allow you to work properly... if you knock the inner bearing, that should give you enough room to act on the spacer, to push out the outer bearing... it is a bit of a faff to be honest.. as both bearings need to go out from the same side they have been inserted and the spacer has nothing to grab it... if you go for a new freehub you need a model B1 and not the more common model A

    The bearings in the freehub can be replaced. There is a sleeve between the two bearings which can be slid to the side. This allows you to tap out the outer bearing. Once the outer bearing is out, pull the sleeve out. You can now access the inner bearing. The inner one is held in place with a circlip which has to be removed before the bearing can be pressed out.
    New ones are 6901. SKF work v well.

    Wheels manufacturing make some bearing pullers which make light work of freehub bearings. Insert the puller and tighenin place so it grips the inner race. Then simply use a punch and hammer to push the puller out taking the bearing with it. Repeat on the inner bearing. Then use there handy press to put the new one in. Took about 10 minutes in total the last time I did it.

    The correct tools for the job make any job alot easier. Any good shop should have these tools, if they don't find another shop. You can of course buy these tools they are very handy.
