Chain hitting outer chainring

On my 2nd bike I'm experimenting with some rotor Q rings, currently running a 52/39 setup.
However I feel I am loosing some gear options as the caching hits the outer chaining at times. Is there anything that can be done here? Would some chainring spacers help? I'm already struggling with high stops to get into the big ring.
Alternatively I'm thinking of chainring the 52 for a 50 ring which should help too- that 52 Q ring is quite a disc to turn at times.
