The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.

So I wonder how much more money he'll make from putting that "art" in the public space then?

    :D

There are people out there (not cyclists obviously  ) who miss the bigger picture and need it pointing out to them, so I think it's a positive thing to do.

    Advertising aint art, it's craft.

You're such a cynic. I'm not judging you, just making an observation. :)

    What a load of w4nk.

    +1

When I see modern art I am mindful of the kid's tale,'The King' New Clothes'. It cries out for someone to shout what everyone else is thinking.
So well done Matt, I agree. It is a pile of shite.

Yeah, that makes sense. The artist who daubs his work on public walls in self promotion has a pop at advertisers.

It's alright, it's not like he's saying anything particularly insightful regards advertising. Wouldn't surpise me it's something that's been done or thought of before but gone un-noticed as the artist wasn't Banksy!

Basically, it's just a bit of a whine (or coke :D ). An incorrect whine as well.

Surprised at the twin reaction to this.

He is making a statement. If he wasn't famous for what he does, would he have more or less impact?
If Aung san suu kyi gets power, has she just been simply promoting oneself for no other reason?
John Lennon wrote the song 'imagine'. He was already rich and very famous - does that mean that the words and the message has less meaningful?

If we all become so cynnical and absolutist, how is anything going to change ?

I am sure that I can't be the only one who imagined the song to be, as Matt so succinctly put it, a load of w@nk.

Is that a genuine Banksy? I thought he just daubed on walls, mostly graffiti without the owner's permission.

Is that a genuine Banksy? I thought he just sold prints of his work in galleries to students at "Uni" and then pocketed the cash to fund a seriously wealthy lifestyle?

    Or is that just me?
