Here's my Giant Anthem with a fair number of 'new bits' which make it a bit less XC, but also a bit lighter. It's just about 'perfect' now (well, it would be nice to have better brakes, and an XT or maybe XTR drivetrain!).

    Hi,

Nice bike! All giants looks awesome.

How do you get on with that little mud guard, does it work and stop much mud?

    Ben.

The fender bender is pretty good for such a small and light bit of kit - a bit better than the neoguard I have.

Love it... even on my local rides I find I'm using it a fair bit, with the seat dropped very slightly for singletrack, right down for steeper and more technical stuff (like the Vale) and then one push and you're all set for the climbs. Should get even more use at QECP - Snakes and Ladders should be even more fun :D

Regards your dropper post, im guessing your tall with the looks of how high your seat is. I am 6ft 5 so my seat is high also and i feel when its good single track my seat feels in the way.

I think i will need to invest in a dropper.

I'm a more modest 6', and that's a 20" (L) frame. As your seat moves forward as it drops, a relatively slight drop gives you quite a bit more room to move on the bike, but still allows you to sit and pedal comfortably. One of the great things about the Reverb is that you can control the return speed, so I've been slowing mine down a bit... on the singletrack you can shove it down and then let it come back up slowly to whatever height feels 'right'.
