Hi guys,

1) For Wheel Set building purposes: Where i can get the Hub Dimensions of
Shimano XT Front Hub T780
Shimano XT Rear Hub T780

i mean:
- Pitch Circle Diameter
- Flange distance

2) I went to Shimano Technical Documents and i could not find that model :?

    I can't find any referance anywhere to an Shimano M780 hub, let alone a T780....... where are you getting it from?
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    According to the T780 documentation it is similar to the M785.

    I'd be careful. Must be there somewhere. No disc mounts have for to mean some differences

    Indeed the hub is a or V-Brake or Rim Version (non disc model) and i did a deep search in Shimano Database but no info about it. Kind of frustrating though. I believe in the T780 model, the "T" stands for trekking or touring bikes which is supossed to be a thougher hub too.

    Hi guys,
    I talked to my LBS yesterday and his advice was to go with Shimano Deore LX hubs, which are way longer lasting and stronger than XT hubs. He told me he broke a bunch of XT hubs but never have a trouble with Deore LX.

    Deore LX seems to be an the heavier side but very strong.

    Can anyone give me the technical dimensions of a Deore LX hubs for Wheel Set Construction purposes?

    Could you please expand on this?

    The price gap between a Deore LX and XT is important, something like 10 euros against 40 euros. I wouldn't like to pay more for a unnoticeable weight diference like 30 grams or for the XT models being marketing model to go. Remember that i will still be using my V-Brake, so maybe a Deore LX almost discontinued product because everything is for disc nowadays and could be a good option to go.

    What do you think?
