I have a 2010 carrera gryphon disc on which I need to replace the chain. I'm also going to replace the cassette at the same time.

The cassette is a 12-26 which doesn't seem that easy to get hold of. I see most shops sell a 12-25 or a 12-27. Would I see much difference with either of these? Is there much difference between a 25 and 27?

In terms of chain, I normally go for a SRAM PC991 9 speed chain which is around £19-20. Are there any other good chains to look out for at £20 or less?

The main difference is the very slightly lower (or higher 'low') gear - though the ratios in between may be in different steps.

I use PC951, don't work any different to the more expensive ones really.

Either of those will work, or you could get an 11-26T (which I use on my Gryphon)....

Size your new chain properly, don't just copy the previous one!
