Need to buy a spare, what does everyone use. Are there any to avoid at all costs?

700x23.

Cheers.

I've generally stuck with Continentals, but after spending 40mins trying to repair a puncture at the weekend (in the rain!) because every time I unscrewed my pump the valve core came out with it, I'm now looking for an alternative.

It's a spare to put in my bag. If I get visited twice by the p fairies then I will have to use my repair kit at the side of the road.

Surely you're not that tight? Do yourself a favour and splash out on 2 tubes and carry them BOTH as spares when you're out. Believe me if you're at the side of the road using your repair kit you'll be wishing you'd spend that extra few £ on a second tube. You can never have enough tubes.....

Nothing to do with being tight, I am having to carry a 28 and a 23 tube around, plus my clothes etc for work and waterproofs. Bag only has limited room.
