After taking up road cycling last month i'm in need for a better helmet as mine feels and looks like a space helmet and when going down hills the wind makes my eyes water like mad lol.

This is the bike i have so would like it to match as close as possible http://www.evanscycles.com/products/sco ... e-ec042439

As i'm new i'm not wanting to spend more than £40 on a helmet and same on the glasses.

Try some on - it's the only way. maybe look for a black one.

for glasses, get some photochromic ones, they're a little bit more than £40 but means you can cycle in a range of conditions without swapping lenses. I cycle at dusk quite often so having one pair of glasses dealing with low sun and night time was perfect.

I use these most of the time , clear, yellow or grey . i buy them from a local safety shop. decathlon have a £7 version, but they have a strengthened upper rim which i prefer to avoid if possible since it can impede your view and makes you kink your head up more causing neck ache on a long ride. most cycle glasses have that fault.
