Quick one.

Can i swap a Square Taper BB for a HT2 BB? (obviously I know it depends on the Crank-set)

will either fit in the frame or am i stuck with Sq Taper?

Facing the frame makes the outer surfaces of the BB of the frame parallel. You do that so the bearings on each side line up better with each other, to avoid unnecessary strain on them. With a one-piece BB cartridge unit the bearings are hold in line by the cartridge shell.
