Hi

Im fairly new to mountain biking and need so help with my disk brakes.

Im pretty handy and have managed to fix most things so far.

Basicly, the pads are rubbing. The bike is pretty new and they arent warn at all. i think i know what the problem is but no idea how to fix it.
This is going to be a terrible explaination but here goes.....

There is a circle, which when the brakes are pressed, pushes the brake pad onto the disk. Once the brake has been released it seem the 'circle' doesnt full return to its normal position.

Any ideas?

Thanks

the circle is the piston and im guessing its not a cable pull brake ?

it may be you need to centralize the caliper "brake bit"

easiest way is slacken off the 2 caliper bolts and apply the brake lever.
tighten the bolts again while keeping the brake on.

if that dont fix it it, may be a warped disc or sticking piston "circle bit" and may need a service which may be a bit more difficult for you? but should be a cheap fix at LBS
