three free hubs failing in 8 months
I'm at a loss, I've had three free hubs fail in 8 months, two FSA rear wheels and one cane creek all on my daughters bike
the LBS said it was water in all three cases however I don't use a power hose as they suggested I had, I have been cleaning them the way I have cleaned my other bikes for years now never having an issue before with sponge and soapy water
The only difference in the daughters bike is she is running a junior cassette can't see how that would make a difference
could the frame be buckled in some way???
its got me stumped

sorry bearings were fine the pawls went, the crank just spinns freely in both directions0

Poor quality, otr the pawl/ratchet are unmatched and one wears the other very quickly. Next time you need a Hope hub, great seal and great freehub mechanism... bit pricey, but hey ho...left the forum March 20230 -
even budget wheels should last longer than 2 months can something be causing this other than faulty hubs?0
