Ok,

bit of a strange one, but I can't get the innertube to deflate :(

It's the standard schrader type, which I've deflated countless times. It also won't inflate either. Normally it wouldn't bother me but I last had it at around 35 psi for the trails but want it around 50 for on road.

That'd be difficult if it won't deflate. looks like I'll have to hack it off or something

Stick something pointy in it and it will deflate rapidly.

Look in the valve. You'll see a straight bit of metal going across the middle. That is the bit you unscrew and the valve pops out.

Valve tool is less than a quid at Halfords, but a tyre place will have a new core you can screw in as well.
