7 speed shifter replacement

I recently picked up an Orbea road bike for my young lad but the left 7 speed shifter is well dodgy. I've looked around for a replacement but some people are asking 60-80 quid for one !!.
Is there anything else I can use ?

    Do you know the make and model of the shifter?

    Normally the left hand shifter is 2 or 3 gears and right hand one is the 7/8/9/10.

    It might be possible to get a 2nd hand one on ebay but it is worth asking on here as someone may have the correct type of shifter lying around in their garage.
