I've got an uplift day booked at Antor Stiniog, and was planning on doing Penmachno and Snowdon Rangers... well... that was the plan many weeks ago, is any of the above snowed in still?

I definitely wouldn't count on doing snowdon, I think lower down it's not too bad now, but snowdon will still be covered at the top. I'm also booked onto an uplift at stiniog this coming friday, so I'm hoping it won't be too bad by then, but the uplift has been closed all weekend. Weather is set to get better this week though.
EDIT: snowdon webcam - snowdon is off the cards. Ignore the fact that it's on a skiing website, snowdon isn't a ski resort! :?0 -
Apparently penmachno is still covered in snow, but coed y brenin is ridable at the moment.0

That's a bugger about Snowdon. Will have to plan some other rides... Haven't done Coed y in something like 5+ years. Might have to revisit this week0

There were some epic ice climbing conditions in Snowdonia at the weekend, some fairly low on the hills as well. I have never seen ice climbing conditions this late in the year in Wales before.
I wouldn't take a bike up there until it thaws a bit.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
I'd absolutely love to go Ice climbing. I've a mate in Bangor who does it and his pictures are amazing. But, I suppose no Snowdon ride for us this weekend.0

Was another world above 1500 ft over the weekend. Concrete solid ice over frozen snow everywhere & blazingly cold in the wind. Very harsh conditions for this time of year0

Cheers. I'm camping for three nights0

It's OK lower down there was nothing below 1000ft or so just a few little pockets of snow and the occasional freaky drift. The ground is quite firm and dry not too bad for camping.

Use the campsite in Nant Peris and spend the evening in the nice warm pub drinking nice cold beer.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
