Can anyone recommend a map?

As the title says, can anyone recommend a decent map for cycling around Bourg d'Oisans (Alpe d'Huez, Glandon, Croix de Fer, Galibier etc). It must be fairly detailed, show major and minor roads in the above areas and fit in my pocket. I've tried a few book shops who were particularly unhelpful saying there is not much call for maps nowadays. Understandable I suppose, but I don't want to rely on Google due to unreliability of mobile signal etc. I have searched several websites and I thought it would be fairly simple but due to mixed reviews and lack of clarity about area coverage I ended up with more questions than answers.

    Yes, the IGN maps are very good - although the paper isn't that robust, the maps are clear. I use the 'Top 100' series for cycling - these people seem to sell them at a reasonable price: http://www.stanfords.co.uk/Regions/Alps ... 000297.htm - and I think you'll need sheet 151. They are 1:100,000, but have enough detail, I think.

    Michelin map 333 Isere, Savoire 1:150000 - 1" = 2.37mls is a good one for all the climbs in the area and only £4.99 from Waterstones.

    You may want to look at the link below - it describes a whole bunch of lesser known climbs in the Bourg d'Oisans area, as well as the Tour classics.

    If you're able to get to St Jean de Maurienne, there are loads of climbs you can do from there - here's a link for the climbs you can do from there too, some of them not so well known.

    Thanks for that, a couple of really excellent, informative links. I've just bought the Michelin 333 map so I think a combination of that and the above links should stand me in good stead to put together some decent routes.
