Chain Lube

I've used all sort of stuff to lubricate the chains on my various bikes over the years from WD40, 3 in 1, wet lubes and currently Finish Dry lube.

So far I prefer the dry lube as it does not attract so much sh*t and as I'm a lazy sod the jockey wheels get into a right mess.

I know this is a topic that has many differing opinions but.....

I'm running out of Finish Dry Lube and want to buy a big pot of something to keep my bikes rust free and smooth.

Should I stick to Finish Dry Lube or switch to something else?

The more clicks I get the higher it creeps up the google radar :)

I've just switched to Fenwicks Road Stealth - should have done it ages ago, brilliant stuff. Don't know if it comes in big pots though.

That Fenwick stuff sounds good, never tried it myself but might try it next time I need some lube.

I use 2 kinds at the moment. I use Rock N Roll gold on the good weather bike and finish line wet on the winter bike. The Rock N Roll is fine to use in the wet, but you'd need to re apply after a run in the rain. It's handy stuff though as it cleans and lubes at the same time.

Rock n Roll Gold is OK, i used it all last year, but you do have to reapply in the summer a lot. You could try Pedros SynLube and Chain-L no.5, or for a wax based dry lube, Squirt. Gonna try the Fenwicks Stealth next.

I've used Fenwicks wet lube for a couple of years before I tried the Finish dry lube. The write up on Fenwicks Road Stealth does make it sound good, shame about the price though.

I've just done a quick search on google and it looks like Wiggle is the cheapest..... I thought Wiggle had given up being cheap? Oooooops no, it's not in stock so that will give them time to increase the price.

You apply so little at a time, I think it'll last a while...

You're obviously looking in the wrong places, it isn't that expensive compared to others ...

Over the last 18 months I've used Pro Gold, Finish Line Wet, Finish Line Dry, Squirt.

Squirt is decent, seems to provide lubrication for a long time. You do get some buildup over time due to the wax.
Pro Gold people rave about but I think is terrible. Poor performance over time (chain squeaking like it had mice living in it after 75 miles), stinks, gets everywhere.
Finish Line Wet is OK, but you get a layer of gunk on the chain that will congeal into tar if you leave it.
Going to stick with Finish Line Dry for a while and see how I go.

Finish Dry Lube is about a fiver for 120ml and the places I've looked at show Fenwicks Road Stealth for about 9 quid for 100ml. I would have said 9 quid for a tiny pot is expensive.

As I said, not really compared to some others.
