Hi everyone.

My best mate has a bit of a problem. He is wanting to buy his first road bike he has narrowed it down to.

Cube peloton
Specialised allez sport
Cannon dale caad8

Now I know you can get online reviews from magazines etc what I'm wanting to know if anyone has any first hand experience of these bikes or any knowledge to help my mate decide.

Thanks

  • They are all good bikes in that price range, so your mate wont go too far wrong with any of them. Personally i would go with either the Cube or Allez. The Cannondale is a good frame but i read a recent review that the components let it down.
I own a Cube and can vouch for them but if it was my money i would go with the Allez.

If it was me and all bikes fitted equally well and were similarly specced then I would go Cube>Cannondale>Spesh. Cube tend to be better value. Spesh seem stingy on kit levels and they are dead common. Not that they arent a good bike but I see so many around. Cube bikes always seem to review well. Sizing is slightly on the small side on Cubes.
