    You're lucky to have so much space! My local shops are all crammed into much smaller areas. Great to see you posting on here again btw :-)

    bit of a late start today, well I am on Holiday.

    made a whole pile of display stand hooks and loaded up the displays. serviced a few bikes.

    and now I am on with a full strip down and service of a BB.

    well today was a day of finishing up things.

    when the leg support is fitted you cant see the bracket.

    kept the old rim brakes and fitted it on the other side backwards as it has a nice parking brake ability.

    Conductive lubritcant/water dispersant? I used to use some similar industrial stuff, but I can't remember the brand.

    here we have two tales about water.

    tale one what happens if you leave your forks with water below the seal for too long.

    the Bushes were also in a poor state.

    the second tale is about water and storing you bike outside.

    Both these stays were the same shape and diameter before winter.

    ooooh, the stays filled with water then froze? Nasty, and rather peculiar!
    I guess it's one way of doing hydroforming on the cheap though.

    Where abouts in Sweden are you. I lived out there in Eskistuna for a while back in the early 90's. A really nice country and fantastic people when I was out there.

    well things are changing. I will be relocating to Germany so this tale really comes to an end.

    I suppose i need to find a new workshop for some tales.

    Like the frame pic - it`s oft forgotten than water freezes INSIDE a `container`.
    Raced motorcycles for many years and the Irish lads were forever looking for cheaper ways to get the bikes across to compete on this side.
    The cheapest way proved very costly for one innocent whose mate was passing close by and offered to bring it across in the back of his wagon , which he forgot to mention was a `fridge unit .....
    Cracked barrels on an RS250 ain`t cheap to replace .... :roll:

    Well one tale today. Normally lower intergrated headset bearing fall out may be tap out from above. today this did not happen tapping out from above gently caused the inner bearing race and the caged balls to fall out leaving the outer race stuck in the frame. I tried to lever it out using screwdrivers but to no avail. I was getting worried and called Specialised (it's a spez frame) to see if they have ever encountered this problem on a warranty or something, they hadn't/ Then a brain wave. My wife had evitcted my bear making kit so I am storing it at the shop and part of this is a 25 litre water heater so I boiled up the barrel and dipped the headtube in. It warmed a bit and then the outer race did come out when levered by a screwdriver -result.

    I never thought a beer mashing and hopping barrel would become a workshop tool.

    My favourite one recently was a customer who had failed to true a wheel that was bent. Turns out the tyre was bulging and he'd tried to true it straight...
