Looking to buy my next bike on bike 2 work
Got a giant defy last time and now looking for the next step up ( recently joined a club) and would like a carbon frame

Google is your friend.
Ribble have been around a long time and have a well deserved reputation for delivering good value for money. Occasionally though they do seem to get customer service slightly wrong but they're a huge operation so that's no surprise really and personally I've always found them to be excellent (haven't bought a bike from them though).0 -
I bought a Ribble Stealth last year. I've done 3500 miles on it so far without any problems other than a noise from the rear wheel hub, which I contacted Ribble about. They advised that the bearings probably just needed cleaning and greasing (it is ridden in all weathers), which they offered to pay to have done by a LBS if I wasn't happy to do it myself. Cleaned and greased and they have been fine since. In my experience the bike and customer service have been excellent.0

My brother in law had a Gran Fondo and thought it was excellent. I live pretty near so spend a lot time in there, they have most (if not all) their frames on display and they all look pretty damn nice to me.0

I have a 2013 Grand Fondo. 1st class bike and very helpful people at ribble advising on the sizing etc.

Excellent images Phil. I'm considering the Gran Fondo too and those just made me want it more. You should contact Ribble, if they showcased their bikes as well as that they would probably sell a whole lot more!0

Why is a carbon frame necessarily a "step up". Keep the defy, upgrade the wheels and get fitter! Carbon is not the be all and end all. I am quicker than my mate on an alu Defy than he is on his £2k Carbon version. Its not about the bike to use an infamous phrase! How do you know a Gran Fondo will fit you until its too late and you've bought it?0 -

I'm looking for a club bike, the defy will be kept for commuting and I might as well take advantage of the c2w scheme whilst its going
Any recommendations on what ribble bike and group set?

Like Phil, I have the Sportive Racing and got to say, I love mine . There are prettier bikes, but the geometry is so comfortable..
Mine is fitted with Velce group set and Fulcrum Racing 5s.
No problems for me from Ribble, delivered on Time, had no reliability issues,
With hindsight, I wished I hadn't got Powertorque on the Veloce crankset, it's fine and reliable, but doesn't lend itself to any DIY if your the kind that likes to fettle.0 -
