Can anyone give me details of surface type on this section ? Looking at Google Earth looks almost to be a gravel / hardcore surface in entirety---if it is I`ll take my bike with rigid front forks, if rocky front suspension
thanks :)

  • It's gravel / hardcore most of the way, but there are a few rocky bits here and there, and can be pretty rough in places. I'd definitely take some bounce along !

We rode the first half of that as a wee gentle loop a while back, it was really nice- nothing super-gnar and I'd be totally happy to ride it on my rigid but on the day I was on my skill-compensating full suss and that was absolutely fine too. No doubt once you get down near kinlochleven it gets rockier, there's nothing down there that's not a swamp or a boulder really :)

It's basically just mountain biking so, just take a mountain bike, don't stress too much about it. Out of my set idealy I'd take the hardtail but they'd all work.
