New Bike - What do I get with a Budget of £1000 - £1500?

Looking to get a new full sus mountain bike for trail riding. Was looking at getting
the following:

but might be able to stretch the budget further. What should I look at if I go up to the £1500 mark.

Either the 2011 X3 or even the 2011 X2 Trance @ £1599 if you can stretch to it. Fantastic bikes.0

The Tance X4 you have linked to in your original post is certainly not worth the money in my opinion. You get very basic Rockshox coil forks, a low spec drivetrain and very basic Avid Elixir 1 brakes.
The Boardman Team FS is only £1049 and beats the Trance X4 specs in pretty much every department.
Take a look on CRC, They have got a lot of Ghost bikes on there going for cheap due to them being 2012/11 models along with others.0 -

I've looked at the Merida as I saw the review in MBUK. I couldn't find one anywhere to have a look at. They were all special order and wanted you to buy.0

with your budget I don't see how you can go wrong with the 2011 Trance X3 or X2 from Pauls? These are extremely well regarded bikes and excellent spec for the money.0
