Hi
Any suggestions for a cap/hat to wear under a mtb/road helmet, without a peak which would offer some thermal properties and possibly waterproof ?
Seen a few but there weren't any reviews

Cheers

  • Have me one of these - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-windtex-skull-cap/

Is very good at dealing with the cold, its not waterproof but I've worn mine in rain and just got on with it. Think they do a cheaper one without the front wind panel.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

if it was waterproof it would get very sweaty and uncomfortable... I use a buff and I also have a thick headband that does the trick

alternatively look in the road bike kit for skull caps without peak

  • I use one of the many free beanies that came with the bike mags or a buff type tube, work very well at keeping the chill off, a waterproof one would be hellish sweaty!?

  • Buff for me. Turn it inside out, twist it in middle, pull right way out, voila, cosy head warmer.

  • I use a balaclava I got from millets for a few quid, keeps me warm and handy for the odd bank job.......
