I have brand caad10 but thinking do not need such extreme bike as only ride 7 mile to work and back in fair weather, thinking hybrid boardman as more useable? Are they fast enough as always had road bike?

If you already have the CAAD 10 just ride it. If you try and sell you will lose a chunk of cash.

  • The hybrid would be a backwards step. You'll be filled with regret every time you're overtaken by someone on a road bike.

I occasionally commute (much more in the summer!) and tend to use a hybrid rather than my CAAD 10 as I really like not having to watch for every pothole and worry every time I cycle over debris washed on to the road.

However, all the time I'm on the hybrid I'm just looking forward to riding the CAAD at the weekend. If I didn't already have the hybrid I'd be perfectly happy on the CAAD but I'd probably put on some slightly bigger and tougher tyres.
