Best bike for £1000 cycle to work scheme

Hi

any sales/offers on that anyone can direct me in for max £1000 for the cycle to work scheme?

I may be a little late, as most sellers' sales have ended or not much left.
Roadie 56cm frame if anything is spotted.

    Well according to all the 'upto £1000' reviews over the last 8 to 12 months (and a multitude of folk on here) the Giant Defy is the one to get.

    Dont forogt some places let you "top up" your voucher if you find a bike higher than the £1k

    I bought a cannondale supersix before xmas paying a couple of hundred on top of the £1k voucher....the bikes was reduced from £1800 so not a bad deal at all considering the sale price and tax advantages

    I think it is best to define what is best first. The needs of a bike for commuting are different for one used for club riding. I would not want to commute on a Defy but sunday club rides on one would be fine.

    So what do you want the bike for OP? If its for commuting and all weather rding I would suggest a bike with proper mudguard mounts like the Tifosi CK7. Tough relaible wheels, rack mounts as standard, full length SKS mudgaurds as standard. If you do get one ask the dealer to fit a different crankset as the Miche crankset require a proprietry BB. A campag veloce crankset will do the job but if you don't want PT BB's then maybe a FSA crankset is a good option. Something with a readily available BB is a good idea!

    Of course there are other options but what are your requirements.
