I have a cube agree gtc pro (2012)
Unsure what cassette I have and assume I should put the same on a turbo wheel if I get hold of one?

Ive seen some wheels with hubs but no cassette whats need to fit one?

  • If you count the teeth on the smallest and largest gears it will tell you what cassette you have.
It will be something like 11-25 or 12-28.
I don't think it matters too much. I use an 11-25 on the road and 12-28 on the turbo.
Only because I got the 12-28 cheap.
Fitting a cassette is easy just search on you tube.
To fit you need a socket like this one (Shimano/Sram)

This one also comes with a chain whip which you need to remove a cassette.

    Thanks
Do all cassettes come with the end part where you hand tighten it to keep in place as I saw on youtube clip
Also don't you need a tool to tighten it?

Yes they do and yes you need a tool. I'd suggest that unless this is something you are going to do regularly go and buy a cassette at your LBS and they will probably fit it to your wheel for nothing.

    Thanks
I believe mine is setup as 10 speed, is it best to keep to a 10 speed too?

Its only for a turbo trainer wheel so was hoping to pick up something used and cheap.
Maybe I'll ring around few bike shops to see what they have

Are there any cassettes I should avoid so it doesn't ruin or misalign my current setup?

If you are going to buy a cassette just for the trainer buy a BBB one they are heavy and cheap

Count the number of sprockets. You will want to match it to ensure even spacing &therefore alignment.

Follow a bit of research and taking wheel off its a shimano 12-28 10 speed so assume its a newer tiagra type
