Greetings Maggots,

Welcome ti the week ahead. After three days of rain, the sun makes an appearance, so result
Today I am off to the city of Johannesburg, as in the city centre, should be interesting...
The weekend was uneventful due to the three day monsoon, but I did watch lots of episodes of "Breaking Bad" which is fairly entertaining..

May your Monday pass by quickly, but mine will end two hours earlier :o)

  • Morning Losers!

Got woken at 3am this morning, but not sure why. I did notice that it was really light outside, which is odd for that time. So I got up to have a look. Turns out it snowed. A lot. Best thing is though, the roads have been cleared- Thanks Leeds City Council, now I have to go to work

So, work for who knows how long, then maybe Judo, but that may have been cancelled. We shall see.

    Morning All

Posting early as have been trying to find out if school is shut. It Is. So the kids are texting their mates to go sledging. Ah well at least they'll be out of the house all day.

Might go and photograph in the Peaks later - well what else do you do on a snowy day once you've built a snowman?
I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

Crap night's sleep last night but still feeling remarkably fresh this morning. Only the slightest amount of snow this morning so no problems driving in.

Spent a fair bit of yesterday tape protecting the new bike. What a carry on that was. It looked like it had been bubble wrapped until I got a hairdryer on it. Still not perfect but at least it is done.

Hearty bowl of porridge has been consumed and tea is waiting.

    Later......

    Morning bumders

No uni meh today owing to the fact our campus is in the arse end of nowhere and the lane down to it has been deemed "unsafe" apparently. Today will involve biking (possibly) and studying anyway. For now though, bit of TV, bit of PS3 and some food.

    Morning biketards!

Have only just woken up to yet more fucking snow, so my trip back to uni has been made all the more fun most likely...

Whether I make it back or not remains to be seen, and due to the likelihood of at least part of my journey having to be done on a bus rather than a train, I can't take either bike back with me, so it's looking like I'll have a month out there with no bike  This snow can just feck right off if you ask me!!!!!

Anyways, I has works and packing to do.

Board pack and meetings about covers today, with some study later - I am living the meh dream

Snow finally arrived here again, got the bus in as it looked like no-one fancied trying to negotiate the gradient on my road.
10 working days till I leave here. 12 days till Chamonix. 21 days till I start the new job.
Today I will be writing minutes that I procrastinated over last week. Joy.

Woken up by some nob'ead ringing the doorbell. I'm not expecting any bike bits so ignored it. Woken up again by some nob'ead ringing the doorbell. Answered it to a Hermes driver wanting to leave a package for next door.

It's not bike bits. What kind of weirdo uses the internet for buying normal things?

Put the heating on so just gonna stroll around the house naked for a while and scare the neighbours

    Morning Scuttlers

Last day off before 11 straight days working, which I have to say I'm not looking forward to, especially as theres snow forecast and I have to ride in in the morning, I may have to take one of the knobblier tyred Mountain "style" bikes out of the shed to use rather than the shopper, we shall see.

spose I better sort out my passport as well this week is I'm going on me jolls the end of march.

had about 8 or 9 inches of snow on friday, most of which is still there. the council to be fair have done a good job at ploughing and gritting the roads so i could get to work - i actually wanted to get here as i have a feck load of work to do.

went for a ride on friday though, which was awesome but fecking hard work...

I'm gutted our work (a school) isn't closed, they nearly closed it on Friday when there was no snow at all, now there is loads they didn't even consider it :S

Went for my first snow-ride yesterday, it was proper good fun, had quite a few scary moments where there was zero grip. First ride out on my new Canyon too, really impressed!

2 miles out in Chapel Allerton. Depends where you are, apparently Wakefield has stopped almost all their bus services. This is stupid, as Wakefield isn't even hilly!
In fairness, I walked to work, like I do every morning, but I was hoping I'd get there to a sign saying "We're closed, have a day off on us". Sadly not.

    Morning all

When I woke up I had a text from someone I work with, which I hoped would read "office is shut- don't come in" but instead it read "office is open - come in if you can". I then held out hope for...
but I was hoping I'd get there to a sign saying "We're closed, have a day off on us". Sadly not.

So i share your pain TKM

Work blah snow blah bored blah.

Night out on Saturday fuelled by Jagerbombs. Discovering through the day the bruises I gained from falling into someone and then over outside the pub. Funtimes...

    Afternoon mongs!

Not in work as I can't get to the main road in the car and I'm not walking 40 miles. Remote Internet is down so can't even do any 'work'. Few calls from who knows who, why don't people leave a message on unknown numbers?

No way I'm going anywhere on the bike for the same reason I'm not driving, bikes and ice aren't that much fun.

Don't mind snow, or even a bit of ice, but the local roads and the start of the locsl trails are an inch of polished ice.

    Evenin' lice-breeders,

A few notable abscences from work today. Lazy toads. Strolled to walk today, and the journey takes me through a local nature reserve - on the way home, someone appeared to be making an porno in the woods. That came as a suprise, so to speak. I continued walking.

This evening features pasta and reviewing the support vehicle route for Gazlars CCCC2CCCC. And sleep. I seem to have missed a lot of sleep these past few days.

Onwards! To pasta arrabiatta (no tray)! And slee.......zzzzzz zzzzzzz zzzzzz

    Mostly because:
    1) It appeals to my sense of freedom from responsibility and,
    2) It just bugs the crap outta you!
