8 speed chain?

Hi,
I have a shimano groupset (sora) with a triple. I needed a new chain so I bought a KMC (Z82). when on the small ring the chain is touching the bottom of the rear derailleur. Have I bought the wrong chain? Or do I need to adjust something?

Explain more. The chain is running through the two jockey wheels. Is it slack? Is the chain on one of the bigger cogs or a small cog? Did you cut the chain to the size of the one you ntook off?0
