Ridgeback vs giant vs cube under £500

Hi guys,
I am new to the Bikeradar and kinda new to mountain biking, I have been riding a beat up old thing from halfords, and my mates specialize, while trying to save up enough to replace my own bike. I have a budget of about 500 (the less the better...) looking for decent hardtail with disc brakes to get me up and running again.
What I have found so far is:

After previous experience of Halfords not a big fan and I will need some finance so kinda rules them out as well.
Is there any of the above that stands out versus the rest as being a better bike??

Have a serious look at these bikes....Far better than what you have listed and in budget...Giant Reign 2

The big names will charge you another 200 quid for a comparable spec.How would I write my own epitaph? With a crayon - I'm not allowed anything I can sharpen to a sustainable point.

The Cube Attention 2012 is much better than the others you listed, I like the Voodoo aswell for £5000
