Im going to be getting my chyle scheme voucher in the next 2 weeks, i've got £1100 to spend, basically i'd decided on the 2012 Cube LTD SL at £790 and spend the rest on accessories. But i've now seen a Cube AMS 100 reduced to £999.

The bike will be used for mainly XC and trails.

Not sure which bike to get now, i just want the best bike for the money dont mind if its hardtail or FS.

Links for the 2 bikes are below, any advice on spec and which would be better for me? I have tried the Cube LTD and i really liked it but i will go for the AMS if its as good as the LTD SL.

I'd try to go and sit on them both, but assuming they both fit I'd got for the FS one. They both have a great fork.
  • Hi, My son has an AMS and daughter has an LTD SL, I much prefer riding the AMS.
    Planet X Kaffenback 2
    Giant Trance X2
    Genesis High Latitude 2x10
    Planet X n2a
    Genesis Core 20
  • Personal preference, so try before you buy.
I have an SL too. But I'm also probably older than a lot of people on here and have a softspot for hardtails.
If I can ride a hardtail, I will. Only when it gets really rough do I break-out the full-suss.
    2007 Felt Q720 (the ratbike)
2012 Cube Ltd SL (the hardtail XC 26er)
    2014 Lapierre Zesty TR 329 (the full-sus 29er)
  • Thanks for the replies. Is there much difference between the specs?
  • Specs do tend to differ. Our SL has Shimano XT, while the AMS has SRAM X0. They have similar Rockshox Reba forks though.

  • They are both good specs. If you fancy full suss go for the AMS, the spec looks fine.
