Well & truly bitten by the downhill bug now, so the SX Trail's now been sold and this little beauty arrived today:

Rear Shock: Fox RC2 241x76mm
Fork: Rockshox BoXXer RC 200mm
Chainguide: E*13 LS1
Rear Derailleur: SRAM X9 Short cage 9 speed
Shifter: SRAM X7
Chainset: Truvativ Hussefelt 1.0 165mm 38t
Bottom Bracket: Truvativ Howitzer XR
Cassette: SRAM PG-950 11-26T 9S

Front Brake: Formula RX 203mm
Rear Brake: Formula RX 203mm
Handlebars: Mondraker Anodized DH 31.8mm 780mm

Pedals: Onoff flats (these were a surprise in the box as I wasn't expecting any - they'll be replaced by Carbon Cycles Flatties in black as soon as the postie arrives tomorrow & that'll lose a tiny bit of weight).
The build quality is superb and it feels really balanced just when you pick it up, the balance point is virtually smack in the middle of the frame (unlike the SX Trail which, because of the 180mm domains, was very front heavy).
The plan now is to completely cover the frame in Helicopter & Shelter tape before I ride it. Also seriously thinking about getting the carbon shockguard / mudguard that came as standard with the Pro Team models as the rear shock looks quite exposed and will get covered in crap as soon as I ride it.
Will take some better, outside, photos at the weekend when I take it for its first spin - can't wait

Off with the Excavators tonight and on with the mud spikes ready for Sunday. Going with Wetscream on the front & Swampthing on the rear - now that would be a bugger on the commute, lucky I don't intend to pedal it much

First outing today, at Macc Forest DH tracks. Feels amazing, so solid (weren't they a"crew"?) and it makes steep stuff feel anything but.
At the moment there is far more bike than rider, but hopefully that'll change as I get used to it and its capabilities.

Well, it didn't rain - but the middle section was very muddy. Fun to watch Mike slither around on his (virtual) slicks whilst all of the rest of us had Wetscreams on!!! Top section was great fun, only a couple of puddles and fast running.
Yes, got a Fenderbender on the Giant and had one on the SX Trail - hadn't thought about fitting one to this, don't know why. Will have to get shopping!!0 -
