Fork Cleaning

Was just wondering if cleaning the bit inside the fork (as in the hole that looks onto the tyre) would damage anything or make it rust. If someone could answer it would be much appreciated

    why would cleaning it damage it? what are you planning on cleaning it with?

    I'm thinking of the bottom of the steerer tube - clean is better than dirty.

    on second thoughts.... i prefer it dirty :twisted:

    Just get on your bike and ride like hell.......no good ever seems to come of cleaning as witnessed by all the posts on here "I just cleaned my bike and now......."
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    Yes, it was the bottom of the steerer tube ;) Ok, Guess i'll leave it ;)
