I realise I'm posting this a little late, but I'm considering Gisburn for the first time tomorrow.
How technical are the trails? On the red graded routes are there any surprises that are unavoidable?
I'll probably do Lee and Cragg again (second time this week) but do fancy a change.

There's nothing that really catches you off guard, just loads of puddles. The boardwalk sections are quite slippy too but they aren't that long.

I didn't go by default, my sat nav wasn't playing. I ended up going to Lee and Cragg instead.0

Best get up there early next year when the new stuffs all open. if you're happy with Lee and Cragg technically you'll be fine at Gisburn.It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

I'll do that. I'll stick to Lee and Cragg and my local routes for a while, plus I've got a skills course next month.
I'll save Gisburn for 2013.0
