Set out this morning with my 2 mates, frost on the grass etc roads were fine. Cycled our way through town and onto the backroads and then disaster. Came round a bend me in front hits black ice and go flying off landing on my chest and skidding up the ice then all i hear is my 2 mates sliding up behind me one on his back and the other on his side still attached to the pedals.

Thankfully after few mins of thinking i had cracked ribs all was fine and the bikes apart from few scratches on our bars came out unscathed. We set off again at snail pace and stayed that pace until we got home.

Sore at the time but we all had a good giggle about it and have a good story for the pub ;)

Beware of ice lurking around every corner in winter, nasty stuff for a cyclist.

I tend to go mountain biking when it's like this, not worth the risk on the road. Glad you're OK.

Glad you are OK, could have been nasty.

Thanks for posting - I am new to cycling with just a few months under my belt - will be extra vigilant when I go out tomorrow morning!
