Press Fit 30 Installed Backwards

All,
Some advice please. I was changing a chainring on an XX system and saw that my PressFit 30 Bottom Bracket was installed backwards (the side marked R is on the left and vice versa). I looked as carefully as I could at both sides and they looked identical, other than the "L" and "R" markings. Do you think it matters it is installed backwards?
(As a side note, I am concerned about this because I feel the front shifting is poor. Could this be the root cause?)
Thanks,
Steve

Sounds odd, are they BB30 cranks? If not then perhaps it's because an adaptor's been used which might reverse the thread0

It's possible one cup is slightly thicker than the other, which will offset the chainset and give poor shifting, but any difference will be slight.
Only one way to find out though...0 -
