Rivington circular.

hi. did a circular route of rivington nr chorley yesterday. some good natural trails with plenty of route options
and varying terrain. one steep road section.

i started and finished from the car park near the school.
a great finish riding along reservoir past go ape .
you can detour to the lower barn cafe for some decent grub !
as you can see between points 4 and 5 i went off route slightly
there is a bridleway sign on right on track down from the pike. i retraced my steps
to it! nice steep descent here with 2 gates to negotiate

    i did the route over the old lead mines to healey nab the other week
    there seem to be loads of natural trails to ride round this area
    could do to avoid the road links if poss
    will have to investigate more

    Oh there's plenty more. Try going off the back of the mast road down to Belmont; along the witton weavers' way; round Darwen/Jubilee Tower and then back through Brinscall

    I've done that, hard work and a scary as hell descent that made me fear for my life. Brilliant views though.
