Love those black 5s. Although having owned a black motorbike in the past they are a bugger to keep clean, and show the scratches :(

Not pretty I'm afraid still looks like it made out of horribly welded girders to me :s

Its all very subjective, you think your other half is a stunner, I though may think she is a total minger! Like I say very subjective ;-) Marmite through and through - no in between with Oranges!!!

the saddle seems a little out of place, colour wise, i know thats being picky, but you certainly didn't scrimp on it in any other area did you  a fantastic looking bike you have there mate

Funny you should say that as I have just swapped it out for a totally black phenom and it does look better :D

  • If only all O5's looked like this, then perhaps they would be less hated! I think the black is quite "slimming" on this and makes it a little less "girdery".

    I love that absolutely stunning

Just abit of advise am I best of getting the s and upgrading all the components gradually or getting and SE and doing the same but with it being less of an issue with the better spec?

In my honest opinion (and I've been cycling for 20 years) buy what you can afford. I've learned the hard way (my wallet) that I probably ended up spending twice as much upgrading rather than just buying what I actually wanted first time, I say want as opposed to need as we all know that much of the equipment we ride far exceeds what we really need, but it is really nice to have the top end stuff and it does make a difference to the riding experience.

Btw my ride is basically the SE 2012 with upgraded wheels, brakes and saddle.
  • Really nice bike you've got there!
Can you tell me the exact model of front derraileur that you used?

  • I've Demo'd an Orange 5 Pro, and liked it, and IMO they look fine too. Also yours is better than most out there, with a great spec, and looks good, but for me, they're not value for money. For the price of yours, most other makes, offer a carbon frame, dropper seatpost, etc etc. If only they were less expensive.

That's a very tasty build, well done.

I will admit to liking the look of the 5's anyway......

Verrrrry nice build; well done for getting it right as I've seen so many 'custom' builds go wrong. Hope you like mine too (note that the stock orange pedals have since been binned!!)...
