So after not switching it on for about 6 months, I'm flogging the old xbox.
I just wanted to know (there is about an hour left on ebay), if I leave my profile active on there so the winning bidder gets a free few months worth of live, what does that leave me open to? I can't remember what details are stored on my profile.
Would the winning bidder be able to go and order thousands of pounds worth of games on my card, or assrape my blinkbox/lovefilm/sky accounts etc?
If I delete my profile, what happens to all the downloaded games, additional DLC and stuff like that, does it stay on the hard drive or is it linked to my profile?

if your card details are attached to your account, I'm pretty sure they'll stay there until the card expires.

Actually, you mentioned about the card expiring and I realized, the card linked to that account expired in Sep.0

That's the thing though, I don't want it. I've sold the xbox because I wasn't using it. No point in me keeping any of the dlc.
Does this mean the buyer won't be able to access any of the downloaded stuff?0 -
If you delete your profile then the buyer gets nothing, I'd say its the safest way.Papa? Nicole0

Ah, now I see.
I deleted my profile, but there is an option on there to keep all the games and achievements. So I selected that et voila, my profile is gone, but all the games are still there. That's a relief.0 -

Oh, haha, could've saved myself some ebay/paypal fees if I'd known. Didn't bother putting it on here as I didn't think it would sell. Mind you, probably got more than it's really worth on the bay of eeee anyway.
£240 (incl. postage) for a 2yr old xbox with a handful of games and a kinect.
Pays for some of the silly upgrades to the rockhopper anyway

The DVD drive in my ageing old white Xbox has bought the farm, so I need to replace it. And the black ones are so much quieter it's not even funny.0 -
Are they definitely quieter? My brother's new black one is far far noisier than my old white one, maybe something to do with the fact his is standing up tall whereas mine is flat. Those bloody touch buttons though, your sleeve touches it and bam the thing switches off :evil: Drives us both nuts.0

Yes, much, much quieter. Why is your sleeve touching it when it's in use?
Not only that, but you must have drool or snot or spunk on your sleeve, since it requires some conductivity to work.0 -

He was reaching for something on the shelf beside it. But the slightest touch activates the buttons, not a problem if it's far away from you but if it's right next to you it's so easy to do something you don't want too. I just don't see the need for them either, proper clicky buttons work fine and are so much harder to press accidently.
And on a related note, is that how I found my iPhone works with gloves if I lick the end of the finger?0 -
What, you had semen on your hands when using the phone? Eurgh.
But, basically yes, most touchscreen smartphones work the same way.
I find that with dry mountain biking gloves, my phone is unresponsive, but once they're a bit damp with sweat, it works fine.
So you could say that these touchy feely electronics like a bit of foreplay before they'll respond to your requests, once you've built up a sweat, they play nice.0
